It may be due to the busy-ness of my schedule, but lately it has been difficult to sit down and put anything worth reading on paper. In an effort to overcome this stoppage of ink, I was looking over some quotes on writing that are pointed enough to possibly inspire me to put the pen to paper again soon.
“Writing is always hiding something so that it can then be discovered”.
– Italo Calvino
“The subtle laws of a style all originate here: they keep a distance, forbid
access, understanding, while they open the ears of those with whom they
have an affinity”.
“Writing: hovering above the abyss, held back only by grammar”.
– Heimito von Doderer
“Writing is nothing more than a guided dream”.
– Jorge Luis Borges
